First cast toward my favorite net area, and waited patiently for the lure to drop to the bottom. Who know, got a take even before I'm ready. Strike! And the monster feels the "Rotan" and dash like "who the hell canned me" to every corner around the area. It's not a Seabass as it didn't jump, what the...??? Who cares, fight the fellow first. After a good fight, it feels the power of my favourite 'G.Loomis custom IMX 2-6' combi with 'Stradic Ci4 size1000' and started to give up. On the verge of time, it took a final dash and somehow got tangle to the net. Though it was tangled, it manage to swim up and down close to the net. Then the kaki next to me shouted "Red tail", and guess everyone are excited now. But in my mind was thinking "now what am I gonna do", luckily the simplest solution came to my mind, ask for the dehooker's assistance. He slowly walk towards me and asked, "what happen?". And I showed him the situation and asked him "you see the Redtail there tangled to the net on my lure, what you want me to do? Break my line or you want to save the fish?". A nice reply "Break line lah". And so the line snap, while the poor fish still stuck near to the net.
Continue with the session, and walk around the pond in search for my second prey.
Pub! Fish on! Now I was at the opposite end on the pond, spinning perpendicular to the 2 water pumps. Whao! it was like a ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz non-stop situation, looks like I'm going to cook up a super big "bee hoon" breakfast for the all the kakis who are fish in the pond. Better think of something fast!!! OK, first action "tighten drag" one round, fish still going... Two round, still going ... max already, still going... ZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzz... Next action plan, thumb thumb thumb stop... thumb thumb thumb stop... damn! the line snapped. What a monster Mann! Next time I'm going to use 100lbs braided line already.
OK, life goes on....So I continue with my quest to land my first fish of the day.
Then it was feeding time, the care taker throw lots of fish into the pond to feed their fishes. Those who use fish as baits was like striking instance lottery, fish started landing one after another. The most busiest person there must be the dehooker, walking every where to dehook the fishes.
With such scene, it seems little hope for lure. Nevertheless, I continue patiently with my weapon. Till... zzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZ goes again. Again I was at the pump side, this time feels the same as earlier. ZzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzZ I followed my previous action plan again, Max drag, "achieved". Thumb thumb thumb "achieved". Line give way? "NO". Very good!!! Started to reel back the fish, line goes out again, thumb again, fish stopped, reel back again, line goes out again, so thumb again, fish stopped, reel back again, line goes up again. (PAUSE: I salute you if you are still reading). This lasted " I really don't know how long" till I realized that those fishing on my right have already retrieved back their lines and the dehooker was just beside me. "Whao big one ah! said the dehooker. "I think so" was my reply. Actually I was in a verge of asking him to fight the fish for me. I'm not sure if you can imaging fighting with a short butt rod, which you are only using the wrist power to fight the fish. And after such a long "tag of war" with the fish, my wrist have already give way. At times I even have to use my left hand to assist my right hand to pull in the fish. "A big chaopaya" said the dehooker. "Oh ya, a big one" was my reply, as the fish have already surface on the water as it seems like it was going to give up the fight. "Brother, later I want to take photo to post on the Internet OK?". "OK" was his reply with a big smile. Piak!!! line burst!!! Damn!!! I forgotten one of my fishing curse. Well well...That's it, I decided to call it a day as I was already exhausted and my hands were cramped. "Will come back again, for my revenge" I told the dehooker.
Didn't manage to land any of those monster, nevertheless today is a great day to be remembered.
And there is always a tomorrow. : )
